Most of the people of Adukrom are farmers. Cassava is the dominant food crop grown in the town. When the cassava is harvested, it is sold as is, but it can also be processed into dough and gari which are sold locally or sent to big cities like Accra and Tema. Other occupations people engage in are petty trading and game hunting which help supplement farming and sustains the local economy.
It is not surprising to also see artisans whittling wood into traditional artifacts to sell to tourists visiting the area. Recently, major developments such as the Safari Valley Lodge and Ridge Nest Hotel have drawn visitors into Adukrom, boosting the local economy.
Adukrom, the capital of Okere District can greatly benefit from domestic and foreign investments to further develop the town into a major technology, business, cultural and tourism hub.
