On Wednesday January 4th of 2023, a dire but bold request was made by J. G. Knol Technical Institute to Adukroman Foundation. According to the Principal of the school, Mr. Michael Okraku, the school’s water pump had given out back in July of 2022 and as of the beginning of January 2023 with school about to resume, a fix to the problem was nowhere in sight. Mr. Okraku on a hunch, reached out to Adukroman Foundation to see if the foundation could help.
The request for the water pump was a no brainer. The goal of Adukroman Foundation is to “improve the lives of the people of Adukrom” and so eliminating the school’s water problem as soon as possible fit the foundation’s mission like a hand in glove. Water is vital to every living thing and the school not having easy access to this vital resource was simply unthinkable.
Having water on school grounds is not a luxury but a necessity, as well as a timesaver so students and staff alike can devote more of their time to learning. Working through our sister organization in Ghana, Adukroman Foundation was able to quickly order and install a new pump at the school to the immense joy and gratitude of the Principal, Mr. Michael Okraku.
